2008 has been an extraordinary year for the number of permits issued: a total of 1033, representing a record level of investment valued at $ 33,557,490.00.

 The City of Cowansville attracts new home owners because of its quality of life and its high level of service, such as its hospital, arena, aquatic centre and educational institutions.  

 The commercial sector made a valuable contribution in terms of new buildings and commercial establishments.

 The residential sector experienced significant investments in 2008 totaling $3,533,324.00.  New construction permits were valued at $10,228,001.00, renovations and extensions for their part represented $3,305,323.00.  93 housing units were built in 2008 as compared to 45 in 2007. The commercial, industrial and institutional sectors contributed $ 20,024,166.00.
