At the corner of rue Sud and Principale, a mural is being created to identify and celebrate artistically a part of the history of the main street of Cowansville.  A vast tableau, created by artists from the Brome-Missisquoi area, this mural will be a realistic and colourful representation of a historical scene representing this sector of the city.

All of the buildings shown on the mural were destroyed in the great fire of 1944. Among all of the projects designed to highlight our heritage, this mural will give a new life to some of the building that have disappeared over the years.

Work on the mural will extend over the Summer of 2008 and we will be able to observe the artists at work on the scaffolds. A guide will be present to provide information on the project throughout the Summer.

This major project is produced by Couleurs Urbaines Cowansville in cooperation with the Department of Culture Heritage and Tourism.
