Your city council is firmly convinced of the importance of a stimulating, nourishing and rich family life. For this reason, a special effort will be made to put into place an environment that will promote individual and collective growth. In this regard, the city’s public spaces, sporting, cultural and community activities as well as the necessary support mechanisms were the subject of a vast consultation.

A working group drafted a family policy for the city. This multi-disciplinary task force was made up of city management and citizens who worked closely with the community. Participants came from many sectors of activity: child care workers, school personnel, health care workers, community workers as well as representatives of the business community. The bilingual nature of the community as well as the involvement of youth was also considered in this vast public consultation.

All citizens contributed to the creation of this planning tool that will guide us in the actions to be taken in the future to make Cowansville an even more welcoming city for families.
