My reading tent !
Cowansville, July 1st, 2009 – Until July 1st, in Davignon Park , weather permitting, (and in the Domaine du parc if it is raining). A tent will be set up in the park where two staff members, equipped with boxes of books will welcome children from 3 to 12 years of age for a bit of reading.
We borrowed the idea from the City of Ste-Thérèse, where for the past five years this extension of their library has proven to be very popular with the children. The City of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu provided the same service last year.
The idea is to offer, under a tent, a selection of reading material for all ages, covering a variety of topics. The choice covers books for tiny tots, game books, encyclopaedias, cartoons and story books. Tactile books with which children can interact are very popular.
Children come into the tent and read. They are guided by staff members, Félix Leblanc and Noémie Lacasse, in their choices and can also do some reading in small groups.
This bilingual activity is free and open to all. Hope to see you there for open air reading from Wednesday to Sunday between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. in Davignon Park this summer.

The Home Diagnostic – it’s good for everybody
Energy wise home diagnostic campaign now's the time to keep it moving !
After two months of the campaign, we have collected $12 280.00 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN OUT DOOR FITNESS AND TRAINING TRACK (PISTE D’HÉBERTISME) AT THE NATURE CENTER. Don't forget that for this Home Diagnostic promotional campaign, Hydro-Québec will contribute $35.00 for reports sent online or $30.00 if the citizen receives it by mail.
These initial results are encouraging and we thank all citizens who have taken the time to fill out their questionnaire. But we cannot stop here.
We need to do our part and double our efforts right now if we want to reach our goal of $27 850.00 and complete our project.

Inauguration of the Bruck Museum
The Bruck Museum will be officially inaugurated in presence of the former president and chief executive officer of the first silk mill in Canada - Bruck Silk Mills. Mr. Bruck, is now 94 years of age. The museum is named in the honour of Gerald L. Bruck.
The Bruck Museum is open the whole week from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
